Jazzma Crofton

Model/Actress

Age: 22

Chicago, Illinois

Jazzma Crofton also known as Jazz Crofton is a 22 year old model/actress located in Chicago, Illinois. She is 5’7, petite build and loves writing, singing, acting and modeling, I guess you can say she’s a quadruple threat. Jazz got her start as a model at the age of 18 in her living room, she pretty much decided one day that she wanted to start her modeling career and asked her male friend if he could take pictures of her in her living room...and from there her career took off. At first she was a freelance model, posting her pictures on model mayhem looking for pretty much any (reasonable) work she can find. Jazz has worked with a wide variety of photogs (Brian Flynn and Charles Andre Thomas), MUAs, hairstylists, clothing lines, etc. and tagged them in her pictures on Instagram as a way of networking. Jazzma’s end game is acting, she really loves acting and being able to embody a character; she says that being a model has really helped her with her acting because she had to tell a story without using words especially in the music videos she was casted in. Crofton’s favorite part about modeling is that she loves being in front of the camera because that’s where she feels most like herself. Her favorite runway show that she has done is the Surround Sound of Fashion (it’s a very elaborate show they’ve even had J.Cole perform at one of them). Jazz’s biggest inspirations are 1960s supermodel Twiggy and Tyra Banks because she spent years watching America’s Next Top Model. She has done a lot of promotional modeling and still does as a freelance model (she’s still open to do photo shoots just check in with her about her rates). Crofton realizes she may be an inspiration to people under her and is open to mentoring girls interested in becoming models. She explains, “If you want to model you really have to do your research and be realistic. If you’re short you can’t do runway but print may definitely be the type of modeling for you. You have to have a real passion for it and not be afraid to hear the word ‘no’. You just have to find your lane and then network whether on facebook, twitter, Instagram or model mayhem. You have to be willing to put in the work, modeling is a real investment and if you are serious you will pay to be successful.” She also says that going to any casting calls you can will really help because you’ll get a lot of feedback whether good or bad. Nowadays, Jazz Crofton is more focused on her acting and wants to book as many gigs as possible. Recently she has signed with Gill Hayes Talent agency as an actress and she plans to move to Los Angeles, California to better pursue her career as an actress. She has already been featured in an independent film, as the lead actress, entitled “You and Me”, which you can buy on DVD. Jazz says, “When I get a bigger name in the industry I want to begin writing for television…and you know maybe work with orphans and foster kids because I know what it’s like being in the foster system. It’s not easy growing up like that. I want to be able to open an orphanage and be a real activist for foster kids everywhere." Her favorite quote that has inspired her through her journey is: "Walk with me one foot in front of the other through leaves and over bridges"

AGHHHHHH SCREAM. I got a chance to interview one of my best friends in the world. I just love her so much *crying face emoji*. Jazzma is one of the most sweet and kind-hearted people you will ever meet and I kid you not if you tell her your dream she will encourage the life out of you. I met Jazzma my freshmen year in college in our acting class (we have somewhat similar goals) and ever since then we’ve been friends. Like I said before my sister Tennae (she’s already been featured) introduced me to fashion when I was 16/17 and I met Jazzma at 18 and told her I was interested in modeling and she’s been nothing but an encouragement. She told me to go to casting calls, try to get signed, work on my portfolio etc. and gave me REAL tips. Basically, she told me everything that she did and hey if it worked for her it could work for me. Anywho, I love Jazzma’s confidence and how open she is, she’s definitely not afraid to be weird in front of people and be herself which is such a plus in modeling because nowadays models are so stiff and boring and serious (pretty much drags (not as in queen but you get what I mean)). Basically she has a personality and she’s not just a mannequin. I’ve known her for two years and just seeing her growth (getting signed, doing independent films, moving to LA) is just amazing and I’m so proud of her because I know how much this means to her. Now she’ll be able to better help her family, especially her beautiful niece and nephew, they’re so cute *heart eyes emoji*. Flex loves the kids. She even enlightened me on a couple of special projects she has coming up that I can’t tell y’all about but I can know because I’m best friend *nail emoji*. She's worked really hard for everything she has and every little bit of success is all her. She's a very talented actress and model. My favorite picture of hers is the one where she's wearing a platinum blonde afro wig (I told her to go blonde but she doesn't want to listen to me (mama knows best, sweetie)). But I know the charity work is going to be the biggest thing for her because she’s really passionate about helping less fortunate kids. I’m just so proud of all the work she has put in to accomplish her goals, since I first met her she hasn’t stopped grinding and it’s all about to pay off. I feel like a proud parent *crying emoji*. She has so much good things happening in the future you do not want to miss her journey. Y’all please go check her out, book her, love her all that good stuff because this is one connection you want to have before she blows up for sure.
